Here are some tips from the Ware County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) on being prepared for an emergency.

  • Locating you quickly in an emergency is important so please make sure that you address numbers/ letters are 4 inches in height and visible from the street so that the ambulance crew can get to you in a timely manner. Report any downed or missing street signs to 9-1-1 dispatch at 912-287-4335.
  • Post the emergency telephone number (9-1-1) for EMS in a visible place so that you or your family can access EMS quickly in an emergency.
  • Know the Poison Control Number 1-800-222-1222 for your area.
  • You and a family member take a CPR/First Aid class.
  • Get involved with your local Community Emergency Response Team and Satilla Medical Reserve Corps.
