Hurricane Idalia 

Hurricane Idalia is forecast to intensify into a major hurricane before making landfall Wednesday morning. Hurricane/Tropical Storm Warnings are now in effect for all of NE FL and SE GA, and a Storm Surge Watch remains in effect for the SE GA coast. Potential impacts include: well inland penetrating tropical storm to hurricane force winds across interior SE GA and NE FL, heavy rainfall, localized flash and urban flooding, several tornadoes, and coastal flooding.

Winds of Category 2 with higher gusts are expected in a SMALL AREA near/right of the core of the system. Winds of Category 1 with gusts up to Category 2 are expected for the rest of the Hurricane Warning area. Major Hurricane conditions are possible in a small area of Extreme Western Gilchrist or Suwannee.
