Inviting: VOAD members, Church Groups, Civic Groups, and any other volunteer groups.
When: July 9, 2011 ● 8:30am-4:00pm
Where: Meet at Charlton County High School: 994 Indian Trail, Folkston, GA 31537
What: Clearing vegetative debris from over 100 homes targeted with the greatest fire hazard. Teams will be coordinated and assigned a leader from the Fire Wise/ GA Forestry Team. Volunteers will learn fire mitigation techniques.
THINGS TO BRING:
Sack lunch and plenty of water.
Any vegetation clearing equipment: Ladders, chainsaws, trimmers, bush hogs, etc.
Gloves, sunscreen, and other personal protective equipment.
FYI–There are no overnight accommodations in the area.
