Ware County, GA Emergency Operations Center Briefing
- Ware is now under a Tropical Storm Warning
- A 50-70 per cent chance of Tropical Storm winds
- 1-3″ of rain
- Rain today is not associated with Hurricane Matthew
- Ware County will start to have rain and wind from Hurricane Matthew starting Friday morning.
- All Motels in Waycross are full
- Red Cross shelter at Waycross Middle School open today (10.06.16) until. Only service animals with persons are allowed.
- If you are evacuating from the coastal counties. At this time we ask that you continue on to Valdosta or Tifton
- Waycross City Hall closes at 3 p.m. today (10.06.16) and closed Friday (10.07.16)
- Department of Family and Children Services closed today and all day Friday (10.07.16)
- All schools closed In Waycross-Ware County Friday (10.07.16)
- There is an animal shelter open at the Waycross Fairgrounds enter at the back gate (owners will be responsible for of their pets-food, etc.)
- If possible stay off the roadways
- Be prepared to take care of yourself and family for 72 hours or longer. Keep check on your neighbors.
- 9-1-1 emergency services could be delayed at times during and after the storm
