A strengthening low pressure system has pushed into the Florida Panhandle this afternoon and will move northeast and track near the area this late evening and overnight with widespread rainfall and a chance of thunderstorms. Isolated thunderstorms may become strong or severe with strong gusty winds. An isolated tornado is possible, with low level jet forecast to increase markedly to 50 knots this evening. This system has brought total rainfall amounts of around an inch on average, but some locations across western portions of the area could see as much as two inches before the threat of rain comes to an end late tonight.
