National Weather Service Jacksonville continues to monitor the potential for strong to severe storms on Thursday and Thursday night as a cold front moves through the region. The main change from yesterday is that the front and associated showers and potential storms will move in mainly from Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night. It’s possible the threat could arrive a little later on Thursday.
The primary hazard is damaging wind gusts, but we can’t rule out an isolated tornado given the strong winds aloft.
The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a large area of slight risk and confidence has increased on the severe weather threat.
